B.Sc (N) (50 SEATS)
Eligibility Criteria / Educational qualification
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. Minimum education:10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
- Student shall be medically fit.Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.Student shall be admitted once in a year.
Post Basic Course
P.B.BSc (N) (25 seats)
Eligibility Criteria / Educational qualification
- Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
- Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:
- O.T. Techniques
- Ophthalmic Nursing
- Leprosy Nursing
- TB Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing
- Neurological and Neuro surgical Nursing
- Community Health Nursing
- Cancer Nursing
- Orthopedic Nursing
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
- Students shall be admitted once in a year.

M.Sc (N)
Branches of study
The following shall be the Branches of study for M.Sc. (N) Degree
- Branch I – Medical Surgical Nursing
- Branch II – Child health (Pediatric) Nursing
- Branch III – Obstetric & Gynecological Nursing
- Branch IV – Community Health Nursing
- Branch V – Mental Health (Psychiatric) Nursing
Eligibility Criteria/ Educational Qualification
- The Candidates (Male/ Female) should have Passed the qualification of B.Sc. Nursing degree from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University or any other University accepted as equivalent there to
- Should have registered with Tamil Nurses and Midwives council.
- B.Sc. Nursing graduates should have one-year clinical experience in a teaching hospital after graduation and after RNRM Registration in the nursing council.The candidate (Male/ Female) with P.B. B.Sc. nurses need not have one year of experience after graduation for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing. They can be admitted to M.Sc. Nursing soon after the graduation in any branch of study.
- Candidates (Male/ Female) should obtain Migration Certificate other than MAHER from their respective universities at the time of admission.
- Candidates must be medically fit and should produce medical certificate at the time of admission.
Duration of the programme
- The duration of certified study for the M.Sc. Nursing degree program for two academic Years
- The candidate (Male/ Female) with P.B. B.Sc. nurses need not have one year of experience after graduation for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing. They can be admitted to M.Sc. Nursing soon after the graduation in any branch of study.
- Candidates (Male/ Female) should obtain Migration Certificate other than MAHER from their respective universities at the time of admission.

The Bachelor of Nursing B. Sc. (N) is a four years program having eight semesters as per INC Syllabus.
Annual intake: 50 seats
Admission Requirements
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
- Candidate with Science subjects who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
- Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
- English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).
- Candidates shall be medically fit.
- Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
- Selection of candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination.
- Candidates shall be admitted once in a year.
P.B.B.Sc (Nursing) (25 seats)
The Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing P.B.B.Sc.(N) is a two years program (after completion of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery)
Annual intake: 25 seats
Admission Requirements
- The upper age limit is 40 years as on 31st of December of the year of admission
- Candidates should have passed Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered his/her name with Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
- There is no domicile restriction and therefore candidates belonging to any State/Union Territory in India are eligible to apply.
- Eligibility Certificate: Candidates shall be required to obtain an eligibility certificate from the university (MAHER) and produce it at the time of admission.
- Candidates graduated from other universities are required to obtain migration certificate from the university where graduated and produce it at the time of admission.
M.Sc (Nursing)
The Master of Nursing M.Sc (N) is a two years program.

Admission Requirements
- The candidate should have undergone in B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
- Candidates must have secured minimum of 55% aggregate marks in B.Sc. Nursing Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Candidates should have registered with State Nursing Council.
- Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Candidates who have achieved a Post Basic B.Sc.(N) must have one year of experience prior to or after completing a Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
- Eligibility Certificate: Candidates are required to obtain an eligibility certificate from the university (MAHER) and produce it at the time of admission.
- Candidates graduated from other universities shall be required to obtain an Migration certificate from the university where graduated and produce it at the time of admission.
