79th Independence Day Celebrations at Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 with great enthusiasm, patriotism, and a spirit of unity.

The programme commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Sayadevi, B.Sc. (N) IV Year. The National Flag was hoisted, after which a march-past was performed. All students then took the Independence Day Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to the nation’s values of freedom, integrity, and responsibility.

As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, students and faculty members actively participated in activities such as forming a human chain and joining an Independence Day rally, showcasing their collective gratitude and patriotic fervor.

Dr. Victor Devasirvadam, Principal of AMCON, delivered a heartfelt Independence Day message, inspiring students to uphold the ideals of freedom and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

To mark the celebration, a series of cultural and intellectual events were organized, including patriotic song performances, a group dance, and a debate on the thought-provoking topic “சுதந்திர இந்தியாவில் நமது வாழ்க்கை, சந்தோஷமா? சங்கடமா?” Winners of these competitions were honored with prizes in recognition of their talents and contributions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sathya, B.Sc. (N) IV Year, followed by the distribution of sweets. With the enthusiastic participation of around 200 students, the celebrations created a vibrant atmosphere of unity, pride, and remembrance, making the day both memorable and meaningful.
