Meenakshi College of Nursing, MAHER, celebrated World Intellectual Property (IP) Day on April 15th , 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the enthusiastic participation of 75 students and 8 faculty members.
The event began with an invocation song, followed by a warm welcome and the keynote address delivered by Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, Meenakshi College of Nursing. Under the theme “From Curiosity to Creation: The Art of Idea Generation,” a guest lecture was presented by Dr. Ramya S., Assistant Professor, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital, who spoke about the importance of nurturing innovation and creativity.
This was followed by an informative session on the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) process, delivered by Dr. Ponmurugan Paneer Selvam, Dean, Doctoral Studies & IPR, MAHER, providing valuable insights into the procedures and protections involved in idea ownership.
To encourage active engagement, a hands-on idea generation activity was conducted by Dr. J. Anitha, Professor, Meenakshi College of Nursing, sparking creativity among the participants.
The celebration served as a meaningful platform to promote awareness on intellectual property, while inspiring students to explore innovation and protect their creative work.
