As part of the ongoing USIM Dental Boot Camp 2025, a team from MAHER University comprising six dental students and Dr. R. Anitha, Deputy Registrar (Administration), attended a highly engaging and insightful series of academic sessions at the Faculty of Dentistry, USIM on 23rd May, 2024.
The day began with a thought-provoking session by Associate Professor Dr. Rohaida Abdul Halim on “Hypnotherapy in Dentistry.” Dr. Rohaida highlighted the practical applications of hypnotherapy in managing patient anxiety and improving treatment outcomes, particularly in pediatric dentistry. The session included a live demonstration, during which students were guided into a trance state using hypnotherapeutic techniques—an immersive experience that was both impactful and memorable for all participants.
Post-lunch, the students attended a career-focused session on “Prospective Career in Malaysia,” conducted by Dr. Mohammed Ghabd Ali Al-Naser. The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the academic and professional pathways for dental graduates aspiring to practice in Malaysia. Dr. Al-Naser elaborated on postgraduate options, licensing exams, and regulatory requirements, offering students valuable insights for their future career planning.
The day concluded with the team returning to their residence in Nilai, enriched with new knowledge and a broader understanding of both clinical practice and professional opportunities in dentistry.
