The Faculty of Occupational Therapy, MAHER, in collaboration with the University of Lincoln, England, organized an enriching Student Interaction Session on 4th July 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. This international academic exchange brought together students from both institutions for a dynamic virtual collaboration aimed at deepening cross-cultural understanding in the field of Occupational Therapy (OT).
A total of 28 students actively participated, with others observing and evaluating the session. Students were divided into six interdisciplinary groups, each comprising members from both universities. The first group activity encouraged participants to reflect on the most rewarding aspects and the challenges of being an OT professional. While students celebrated the meaningful impact of promoting independence and quality of life, they also discussed the ongoing need for broader recognition of OT within healthcare systems and the public.
The second activity focused on future collaborative opportunities. Students enthusiastically shared ideas on learning from diverse global OT practices, exploring innovative interventions, and understanding cultural variations in care delivery. All group inputs were captured and shared through a collaborative Padlet platform, fostering continued dialogue.
The session was a resounding success, sparking thoughtful discussion and reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing Occupational Therapy through global collaboration and mutual learning.
