The Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) successfully organized a three-day Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) workshop from 8th to 10th July 2025, aimed at enhancing faculty competencies in line with the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines for faculty development.
Held at the MEU, the workshop was facilitated by experienced in-house resource faculty and was closely supervised by an NMC-appointed observer to ensure adherence to prescribed training standards. A total of 30 faculty members from various departments enthusiastically participated in this intensive training program.
Each day featured engaging sessions from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, covering critical aspects of modern medical education such as curriculum planning, adult learning principles, innovative teaching-learning methods, assessment strategies, and effective feedback techniques. The interactive format encouraged reflection, discussion, and the practical application of concepts through hands-on activities and group tasks.
The BCME workshop served as a platform for medical educators to upgrade their pedagogical skills and align their teaching methods with evolving standards in medical education.
