The Industry Institute Partnership Cell of Meenakshi College of Pharmacy organized an industrial visit for 3rd semester B.Pharm students on 7th August 2025 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Kniss Laboratory, Gerugambakkam. The visit was aimed at providing students with real-time exposure to the various processes involved in the preparation of solid dosage forms, an integral component of the Physical Pharmaceutics curriculum. This initiative sought to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application.
Upon arrival at the industry, the students were divided into two groups for effective observation and interaction. Group 1 was guided through the Quality Control process, where industry experts explained the procedures, equipment usage, and standards adopted to ensure product quality. Group 2 observed the Manufacturing Process, with detailed insights into the sequence of operations, machinery involved, and safety protocols followed during production.
Due to safety and confidentiality concerns, photography inside the premises was restricted. However, a group photograph was taken outside the laboratory to commemorate the visit.
Feedback was collected both from the company staff regarding students’ ability to observe and interact, as well as from the students on their learning experience. The participants shared that the visit offered valuable insights into the operational aspects of both quality control and manufacturing, thereby enhancing their understanding of solid dosage form preparation.
Overall, the industrial visit proved to be a highly enriching and informative experience, equipping students with practical knowledge and industry exposure.
