In anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season, the Department of Community Medicine, Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute (MMCHRI), Kanchipuram, organized an outreach health education programme on the prevention of acute gastroenteritis. The session was conducted for the students of Panchayat Union Middle School, Thirupanangadu Village.
The programme aimed to raise awareness among children about the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures for acute gastroenteritis, a common illness during the rainy season. Faculty members highlighted the importance of safe drinking water, proper sanitation, hand hygiene, and healthy food practices as effective strategies to prevent the spread of the disease.
Interactive discussions and engaging demonstrations helped the school students understand the significance of adopting these preventive practices in their daily lives. Such initiatives play a vital role in empowering communities to safeguard their health and well-being.
