Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) celebrated World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2025 with enthusiasm and dedication. The programme was organized by the B.Sc. (N) VII Semester students in collaboration with faculty members, aiming to raise awareness about mental health and the importance of timely access to services, especially during crises.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. P. Pooja, B.Sc. (N) VII Semester. Dr. Victor Devasirvadham, Principal, AMCON, highlighted the year’s theme, “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.” Mr. Sugapriyan, B.Sc. (N) VII Semester, delivered a speech on the significance of World Mental Health Day, followed by a PowerPoint presentation on the theme by Ms. M. Devasri, B.Sc. (N) VII Semester.
An impactful skit performed by the students showcased the critical need for timely mental health interventions during psychiatric emergencies and emphasized community cooperation in such situations. Mrs. Srimathi, Assistant Professor, AMCON, provided valuable feedback, appreciating the students’ active participation and performance.
A total of 98 students and 17 faculty members participated, enriching their understanding of mental health services and community support. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Abinayashree, followed by the National Anthem. The event was a resounding success, fostering awareness of mental health and the accessibility of crucial services during emergencies.
