The 76th Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) was commemorated on 26 November 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall of Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, aligning with the national theme “Hamara Samvidhan – Hamara Swabhiman” (Our Constitution, Our Pride).
The observance began with the dignified rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, creating a solemn and respectful atmosphere. A warm welcome address was delivered by Ms. Ruba Sri, B.Sc. (N) IV Year, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.
Dr. S. Victor Devasirvadam, Ph.D. (N), D.Sc. (N), Principal, AMCON, elaborated on the significance of the national theme and emphasized the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. His address highlighted the timeless relevance of the Indian Constitution in shaping a responsible and harmonious society.
An insightful session on Human Rights was delivered by Mr. Prakash, Ph.D. (N), Associate Professor, who underscored their importance in today’s socio-political context and explained how constitutional safeguards empower citizens.
Under the same theme, B.Sc. (N) III Year students conducted a powerful and thought-provoking workshop on “Human Rights Violations”, effectively portraying real-life scenarios. Their presentation sensitized the audience to the importance of constitutional rights, the need for vigilance, and the role of citizens in upholding human dignity.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mrs. Elakiya C.L.I.S., B.A., Library Assistant, followed by the National Anthem.
A total of 100 students actively participated in the event, gaining valuable awareness of constitutional values and human rights.
