The Department of Meenakshi College of Yoga Science and Therapy, MAHER, organized a seminar in observance of World Meditation Day on 19 December 2025 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, with the objective of promoting mental well-being, emotional balance, and self-awareness among students. The programme commenced with a prayer, creating a calm and reflective atmosphere, followed by a welcome address that highlighted the relevance of meditation in managing the stresses and challenges of contemporary life.
The resource persons for the seminar, Mr. S. Natarajan, Mr. S. Rangarajan, and Mr. Ravi Arumugan from Heartful Meditation, were formally introduced by Dr. Karthika P., Assistant Professor, and honoured by Dr. A. Annadurai, Assistant Professor. During the technical session, the resource persons delivered an insightful and motivating talk on meditation, elaborating on its scientific, psychological, and practical benefits. They emphasized how regular meditation practice can help reduce stress, enhance concentration, and promote emotional stability, especially among students.
The seminar also featured a guided practical meditation session conducted by Mr. Ravi Arumugan, which provided participants with an opportunity to experience meditation techniques firsthand. This session was highly interactive and engaging, allowing students to actively participate and clarify their queries. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Shruthi, Assistant Professor. A total of 40 students benefited from the programme, gaining valuable insights and practical exposure to meditation as a tool for holistic well-being.
