Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCH&RI), Enathur, Kanchipuram, commemorated the 76th Republic Day on 26th January 2026 with great patriotism, dignity, and national pride. The ceremony was held at 9.00 a.m. near the Athletic Track (opposite the Old Girls’ Hostel) and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, staff, students, and NCC cadets.
The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Capt. Tushar Sharma, Commanding Officer, INAS 561, INS Rajali, Arakkonam, followed by the invocation through Thamizh Thai Vazhthu. The Chief Guest formally inspected the parade and received the salute before unfurling the National Flag, which was followed by the National Anthem, evoking a strong sense of unity and patriotic fervour.
Delivering the welcome address, Prof. Dr. K. V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCH&RI, highlighted the significance of Republic Day and the enduring values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The Republic Day Address by Capt. Tushar Sharma inspired the gathering with his reflections on discipline, duty, national service, and the vital role of youth in nation-building.
As part of the celebrations, staff members and NCC cadets were honoured in recognition of their excellence and dedicated service. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. K. Boopathi, Medical Superintendent, followed by the distribution of sweets to all participants.
The celebration stood as a meaningful reminder of constitutional values, collective responsibility, and the spirit of service to the nation.
