Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences Organizes SHEFEST 2K26 in Celebration of International Women’s Day

The Internal Complaints Committee of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences, MAHER, organized SHEFEST 2K26 – “Empower, Elevate, Evolve,” an intercollegiate fest on 7th March 2026 in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event served as a vibrant platform to celebrate women’s achievements while encouraging creativity, confidence, and leadership among students.

The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by the welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal. Prof. Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, addressed the gathering and motivated students to uphold the values of empowerment, equality, and mutual respect in both personal and professional spheres.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Nandhini Priyanka, MBBS, MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology), from the Primary Health Centre, Arakkonam. She delivered an inspiring talk titled “The Women Behind the Healing,” emphasizing the significant contributions of women in healthcare and their role in shaping compassionate and patient-centered medical practice. In recognition of her contributions, she was honored with the Women’s Healthcare Empowerment Award – 2026.

The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 300 students, including internal participants from Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences as well as students from various other colleges. A variety of competitions such as Rangoli, Short Film, Fashion Show, Dual Dance, and Inspirational Singing were conducted, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, talent, and confidence.

The programme concluded with a valedictory function during which winners were announced and prizes were distributed by the Principal. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Roshini, Assistant Professor, and the event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving participants inspired by the spirit of empowerment and celebration of women’s achievements.
