The Department of Renal Dialysis Technology at Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences observed World Kidney Day on 20th March 2026 by organizing a webinar on the theme “Role of Lifestyle Modification in Kidney Health.”
The programme featured an engaging guest lecture by Ms. Vindhya D, Lecturer, Department of Renal Dialysis Technology, Panimalar College of Allied Health Sciences. The session emphasized the critical role of lifestyle modifications in maintaining kidney health, highlighting key aspects such as balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, adequate hydration, and the avoidance of harmful habits in preventing kidney-related disorders.
A total of 100 participants, including I, II, and III year students and interns from the Department of Renal Dialysis Technology, actively took part in the webinar. The session encouraged interactive discussions, enabling students to gain deeper insights into preventive strategies and patient education related to kidney health.
The programme concluded on a positive and informative note, reinforcing the importance of awareness and early intervention in improving kidney health and overall quality of life. This field engagement offered students valuable hands-on clinical exposure and the opportunity to interact directly with patients in a community setting. It significantly enhanced their practical knowledge, communication skills, and awareness of public health challenges.
