The ISO Committee of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) conducted a mock drill on STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) and ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) overflow management on 27th March 2026 at the STP & ETP facility within the campus.
The drill was organized to assess preparedness and response mechanisms in handling potential overflow situations, ensuring adherence to environmental safety protocols and regulatory standards. The activity simulated emergency scenarios, enabling staff to practice timely interventions, effective coordination, and appropriate containment measures.
Participants were guided through standard operating procedures related to overflow control, waste management, and preventive maintenance of treatment systems. The exercise also emphasized the importance of prompt communication and teamwork in minimizing environmental risks and maintaining operational efficiency.
The mock drill served as a practical training initiative, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and compliance in managing critical infrastructure within healthcare settings. This hands-on exercise enhanced participants’ operational readiness, technical understanding, and ability to respond effectively to environmental safety challenges.
