MMCHRI Equips Future Doctors Through CRMI Orientation Programme

The Medical Education Unit, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) organized the CRMI Orientation Programme titled “Stepping into Clinical Practice” for the 2021–22 MBBS Batch, preparing interns to confidently transition from medical students to responsible healthcare professionals.

The comprehensive orientation programme introduced interns to the essential aspects of their clinical internship, including professional ethics, code of conduct, attendance regulations, and logbook maintenance. Participants also received detailed guidance on community medicine, the roles and responsibilities of interns across major clinical departments, and best practices in emergency patient care.

The programme featured sessions on laboratory procedures, blood bank services, pharmacovigilance, infection prevention and control practices, certifiable clinical skills, and NABH standards for case sheet documentation, enabling interns to strengthen their understanding of patient safety and quality healthcare delivery.

In addition, guidance on hostel rules and institutional regulations ensured a smooth transition into the hospital environment, helping interns adapt to their new professional responsibilities with confidence.

The orientation programme provided a strong foundation for clinical practice by equipping interns with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional values essential for delivering safe, ethical, and patient-centred healthcare throughout their internship and beyond.
