Meenakshi College of Pharmacy (MCOP), Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER), Thandalam, Chennai, successfully conducted a Career Guidance and Academic Orientation Programme for students of Jaigopal Garodia Matriculation Higher Secondary School, SRP Colony, Kolathur, Chennai, on 1st August 2026.
The programme commenced with an informative session by Mr. Anantharaj V., Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy, who highlighted the importance of systematic career planning, goal-oriented learning, skill development, and informed decision-making. He provided an overview of the diverse academic and professional opportunities available in pharmacy and allied healthcare disciplines, emphasizing the importance of scientific knowledge, professional competencies, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.
The session was followed by an engaging presentation by Dr. S. Dhanalakshmi, Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy, who elaborated on the scope and multidisciplinary nature of pharmacy education. She highlighted opportunities in higher education, pharmaceutical research, drug discovery and development, clinical research, the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory affairs, and emerging healthcare professions. She encouraged students to develop scientific aptitude, strengthen their academic competencies, and pursue their career aspirations with confidence and professional responsibility.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. S. Sreenath, Senior Administrative Officer. Students actively participated in the interactive sessions and raised queries related to academic pathways and career opportunities. The programme concluded with a constructive discussion and a formal Vote of Thanks.
