The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) organized a Viksit Bharat Campaign towards the vision of a Drug-Free India on 10th August 2026, in accordance with UGC guidelines. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and promote a healthy, responsible, and drug-free society.
Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice-Principal, emphasized the importance of maintaining a drug-free environment and encouraged students to make responsible choices and actively contribute to preventing substance abuse. She highlighted the role of young people in creating awareness and supporting efforts towards a healthier and safer society.
As part of the campaign, all II Year students participated in the Drug-Free India Pledge through the MY Bharat portal, committing themselves to staying away from drugs, supporting their peers, and spreading awareness about the physical, psychological, and social consequences of addiction. All participating students received certificates in recognition of their active participation.
The programme encouraged students to become responsible youth ambassadors and contribute to the vision of Drug-Free India by 2047. The initiative strengthened awareness among students and served as a meaningful step towards building a healthier, safer, and drug-free community in alignment with Viksit Bharat @2047.
