The Department of Emergency Medicine at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI), in collaboration with the Kancheepuram Police Department, organised a Road Traffic Accident Awareness Rally to mark World Trauma Day 2026.
The initiative aimed to promote road safety, raise public awareness about preventing road traffic accidents, and emphasise responsible driving and the importance of timely emergency care. As part of the programme, pamphlets were distributed to the public, awareness speeches were delivered at a traffic signal, and participants took a road safety pledge at the bus stand signal.
The rally reinforced the importance of responsible road use, timely action during emergencies and collective efforts to prevent road traffic injuries and save lives.
