AMCON Conducts Awareness Program on the Kavalan Udhavi App

Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON), under the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), organized an impactful Awareness Program on the Kavalan Udhavi App on 10th December 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM in the AMCON Lecture Hall. The session aimed to strengthen student awareness on digital safety measures and empower them with essential knowledge on emergency response tools.

The program commenced with the dignified rendering of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. C. Andriya Paulin of B.Sc. (N) III Semester. Prof. Dr. S. Victor Devasirvadam, Principal, AMCON, delivered the inaugural address, underscoring the importance of equipping students with contemporary safety resources.

Prof. Dr. Vasantha Priya J., ICC Presiding Officer, presented a comprehensive and engaging session on the Kavalan Udhavi App, a flagship digital safety initiative launched by the Tamil Nadu Police. She detailed the app’s key functions, including SOS alert activation with live location sharing, reporting cyber and traffic issues, emergency helpline connectivity, and mobile complaint registration with multimedia support. Her address highlighted the crucial role of such digital platforms in enhancing public safety, especially for young individuals navigating diverse social and academic environments.

Students actively participated in the session and expressed that the program significantly enhanced their understanding of the app’s features, practical utility, and relevance in real-life emergency situations. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Amina, B.Sc. (N) III Semester, and the event concluded with the National Anthem.

The program served as an important initiative promoting digital safety awareness and encouraging students to stay informed, vigilant, and proactive in safeguarding themselves and their communities.
