AMCON Observes World Blood Donor Day 2025

Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing commemorated World Blood Donor Day on 16th June 2025, in alignment with the global theme: “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives.” The event aimed to raise awareness about the critical importance of voluntary blood donation and its impact on saving lives and promoting community well-being.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Ms. Aishwarya, B.Sc (N) VI Semester. Dr. Victor Devasirvadham, Principal, AMCON, addressed the gathering and elaborated on the significance of the day’s theme, stressing the urgent need for safe blood donations and the life-saving difference they make for patients in need.

A panel discussion was conducted by B.Sc (N) VI Semester students, covering topics such as the importance of voluntary blood donation, the donation process, and common misconceptions surrounding it. The students also presented a thought-provoking skit that highlighted the crucial role blood donation plays in emergency care and patient recovery.

The participants took a pledge to support and advocate for blood donation, reaffirming their dedication to this noble cause. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Abinaya Sree, B.Sc (N) VI Semester, followed by the National Anthem.

The day concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to advocate for and engage in voluntary blood donation efforts.
