Anti-Ragging Week Observed at Meenakshi College of Yoga Science and Therapy

The Meenakshi College of Yoga Science and Therapy observed Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August 2025, with a series of programs aimed at spreading awareness and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to a ragging-free campus.

The observance commenced on 12th August 2025, Anti-Ragging Day, with an inaugural session and the administration of the Anti-Ragging Pledge, followed by an orientation address by Prof. Dr. V. Subbulakshmi, Principal. On 13th August 2025, a UGC anti-ragging awareness video was screened, and essay and slogan writing competitions were announced. These competitions were conducted on 14th August 2025, providing students an opportunity to creatively express their views on the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

The week-long observance concluded on 18th August 2025 with an awareness webinar delivered by Mr. G. Arun, Advocate, High Court of Chennai, on the topic “The Role of Emotional Intelligence in the Prevention of Ragging.” His session highlighted the significance of empathy, self-awareness, and communication in preventing ragging and fostering positive peer relationships.

The Anti-Ragging Week successfully engaged students in meaningful activities, encouraging them to take collective responsibility in upholding dignity, respect, and harmony within the institution.
