As part of the Year-Long Celebration of Constitution Day – 2025, Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) observed Constitution Day on 10th June 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, AMCON, with the theme “Environmental Rights and Responsibilities.”
The programme commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms. Monika, B.Sc (N) VI Semester. Dr. Victor Devasirvadam, Principal, AMCON, introduced the theme and emphasized the constitutional responsibility towards environmental protection. Dr. M. Raghavendran, Vice Principal, elaborated on the significance of environmental rights and their role in shaping a sustainable future.
The event featured a series of student presentations, including a talk on the importance of tree planting by Ms. Thenmozhi, and a speech on environmental protection by Ms. Bhuvaneswari, both from B.Sc (N) VI Semester. A panel discussion on “Environmental Laws” was moderated by Dr. M. Raghavendran, encouraging critical dialogue among students.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Reshma, B.Sc (N) VI Semester. As a symbolic gesture of commitment to environmental stewardship, saplings were planted in the AMCON NSS garden.
A total of 98 students participated in the programme, which successfully deepened awareness about constitutional duties related to the environment. The event concluded with the National Anthem
