Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) observed the Nationwide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness Week from 13th to 17th October 2025, organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The initiative aimed to enhance public awareness, preparedness, and the ability to perform CPR, thereby empowering individuals to save lives during cardiac emergencies.
The week-long observance commenced on 13th October 2025 with students and faculty members taking a pledge to contribute towards building CPR competency among nursing professionals and the community. The highlight of the day was a mass demonstration of CPR techniques by Mr. Prasanna Kumar, BCLS Instructor, who provided hands-on training and emphasized the importance of timely intervention in cardiac arrest situations.
On 14th October 2025, students participated in a poster competition that creatively illustrated the importance and steps of CPR. The following day, 15th October 2025, featured a quiz competition that tested participants’ knowledge of CPR procedures, emergency response, and life-saving practices.
To extend the message beyond the campus, students performed a street play on 16th October 2025, effectively communicating CPR techniques and the significance of immediate response during cardiac emergencies. The observance concluded on 17th October 2025 with a panel discussion, where students engaged in meaningful dialogue on strengthening CPR training and awareness initiatives within the community.
The entire week was marked by enthusiasm, active participation, and experiential learning, reflecting the college’s unwavering commitment to promoting life-saving skills and fostering a culture of emergency preparedness among students and the public.
