Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing Observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025

In accordance with the directive from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and the University Grants Commission (UGC), Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from 27th October to 2nd November on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”

The inaugural ceremony, held on 27th October 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, began with Tamizh Thai Vazhthu and a welcome address by Ms. Dorthy Braina (B.Sc. Nursing III Year). Dr. S. Victor Devasirvadam, Principal, delivered the keynote address, unfolding the theme of the week. A debate competition on “Corruption-Free India for a Developed India” was organized by Mrs. S. Uma, Associate Professor, followed by the Integrity Pledge administered to all faculty, staff, and students.

Throughout the week, several activities were conducted to reinforce ethical values. On 28th October, a Vigilance Awareness Rally at Enathur, Kanchipuram, supervised by Mrs. Johnsi Inbakumari, featured impactful placards and slogans promoting integrity and transparency. On 29th October, Quiz and Poster Competitions coordinated by Mrs. Srimathi, Assistant Professor, focused on vigilance and anti-corruption awareness.

As part of community outreach, an Integrity Pledge for Citizens was administered during a program at Pallavarmedu on 30th October, coordinated by Ms. Asha Rani, Assistant Professor, involving students, the public, and the Gram Panchayat officer. On 31st October, a Village Meeting was organized at the same venue under the supervision of Ms. Sunitha Devi, Assistant Professor, to sensitize residents about shared responsibility in promoting vigilance.

The week-long observance concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Gowdham (B.Sc. Nursing II Year) and the National Anthem. Over 500 students and members of the public actively participated, reaffirming their collective commitment to building a transparent and corruption-free society.
