Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON), in association with Clean to Green India, organized an E-Waste Awareness Campaign for teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students. The programme aimed to create awareness on responsible e-waste disposal and highlight the role of individuals in sustainable environmental practices.
The campaign commenced with the registration of participants, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mr. Dinesh Kumar R., ISO Coordinator, AMCON. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Raghavendiran, Vice Principal, who delivered an inspiring address on the significance of sustainable waste management.
The highlight of the campaign was an insightful session by Mr. Manova Markus, volunteer from Clean to Green India, who emphasized the importance of proper e-waste management and explained various recycling processes. This was followed by a detailed presentation by Ms. Jenifer on e-waste collection methods and the use of an online application for effective e-waste management.
An interactive discussion session encouraged active participation, with queries from staff and students being addressed by the resource persons. Feedback was collected to assess the effectiveness of the initiative.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Swathi, B.Sc. (N) IV Year. A total of 50 participants benefited from the campaign, gaining valuable knowledge on sustainable practices and the importance of e-waste management in building a greener future.
