Career Awareness Program for School Students at Meenakshi Faculty of Pharmacy

As part of its outreach and career guidance initiative, the Training, Placement, and Career Guidance Cell of Meenakshi Faculty of Pharmacy organized a career awareness program for +2 students of UCCK Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Ambattur. The event was held on 29th July 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Meenakshi Faculty of Pharmacy campus in Thandalam.

The program aimed to introduce school students to the B.Pharmacy program and the broad spectrum of career opportunities available in pharmaceutical sciences. It began with the registration of 26 students, followed by a soulful invocation and a warm welcome address by Dr. K.K. Rajasekhar, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Visiting school teachers were felicitated and honored for their commitment to student development.

The Principal addressed the students on making informed career choices, emphasizing the evolving scope and impact of pharmacy in healthcare. Adding value to the session, second-year B.Pharm students shared their learning experiences and personal growth during their academic journey.

To give the visitors a real-world glimpse into the pharmacy profession, the students were divided into groups for a guided campus and lab tour. Under faculty supervision, second-year students explained various lab facilities and ongoing experiments, allowing the school students to interact with both faculty and peers while exploring the practical side of pharmaceutical education.

In a special segment, the first-year B.Pharm topper was recognized and honored by the Principal, serving as an inspiration for aspiring students. Feedback forms were distributed to capture student impressions and suggestions for future programs.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by a faculty member from UCCK School, expressing sincere appreciation to the organizers for providing such an enlightening experience. A group photograph commemorated the occasion, and the program ended with the National Anthem, marking the conclusion of a successful and inspiring event.
