The Training, Placement, and Career Guidance (TPCG) Committee of Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) organized a highly informative Career Guidance Program titled “Orientation to Nursing Job Opportunities in Government Sector” on 11th July 2025. The session, held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, was designed exclusively for B.Sc Nursing III and IV year students to enhance their awareness of career pathways in the public sector.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Deepak N, B.Sc (Nursing) III Year, MCON. Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the numerous advantages of government service and encouraging students to explore the wealth of job opportunities available across public health institutions.
Ms. M. Regi Cindrella, Tutor, MCON, introduced the distinguished resource speaker, Mr. Dhanasekar V. M., Deputy Nursing Superintendent & Nursing Tutor, College of Nursing, AIIMS Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Dhanasekar conducted a detailed and insightful session on various government sector roles for nurses, explaining the application procedures, preparation strategies, relevant study materials, eligibility criteria, and institutions offering employment. His lecture emphasized strategic preparation to help students secure stable and fulfilling careers in the public health system.
Adding to the inspiration, Mr. Karthick S, Senior Nursing Officer at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, and a proud alumnus of MCON, shared his personal journey and underscored the importance of dedicated preparation and consistent motivation when aiming for competitive government exams.
The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Raghul S, B.Sc (Nursing) III Year, MCON, followed by the National Anthem. The program was well-received by the students, who left with renewed enthusiasm and a clearer understanding of the pathways to secure government nursing positions.
