CME Programme on “Diabetes Update” – Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute

The Department of General Medicine, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI), Kanchipuram, conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme titled “Diabetes Update” on 14 November 2025 at the New Lecture Hall, 250 Block, as part of the World Diabetes Day celebrations.

The programme featured insightful sessions by eminent speakers.
Dr. C. T. Meyyammai, Assistant Professor, Department of General Medicine, MMCHRI, delivered an overview on the definition, classification, and diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus. Dr. K. Mayilananthi, Professor of General Medicine, Chettinad Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, Chennai, presented on the clinical features, treatment modalities, and recent advances in diabetes management. Dr. A. Vivekanandan from Arignar Anna Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Kanchipuram, spoke on the complications associated with Diabetes Mellitus.Dr. Jayannan delivered a detailed session on the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, and clinical features of the disease.

The programme concluded with an engaging Panel Discussion featuring Prof. Dr. D. Anbarasu, Prof. Dr. K. Srinivasagalu, Prof. Dr. G. Anbazhagan, and Prof. Dr. P. Mohanraj.

The event successfully enriched clinical understanding and enhanced awareness on diabetes and its optimal management, resonating with the theme “Diabetes and Well-Being.”
