The Department of Anaesthesiology, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI), Enathur, Kanchipuram, conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on World Anaesthesia Day on 16 October 2025 at Morton Hall. The event celebrated the vital contributions of anaesthesiologists to modern healthcare while enhancing awareness of contemporary anaesthesia practices.
The CME featured expert lectures by distinguished speakers.
Dr. Gnanaganesh, MD, DA, Professor of Anaesthesiology, Government Arignar Anna Memorial Cancer Institute, Kanchipuram, spoke on the “Role of Anaesthesiologist in Obstetric Emergencies.”
This was followed by an engaging session on “POCUS – The Anaesthesiologist’s Stethoscope in Emergencies” delivered by Dr. Surya R., MD, DMD, IDRA, FIBRM, FMSKUS, Associate Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, emphasizing advancements in patient monitoring and emergency care.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, marking a successful and informative observance of World Anaesthesia Day.
