The Medical Education Unit and Mentorship Committee of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI) conducted the CRMI Orientation Programme on 16th June 2025. The programme was designed to sensitize and prepare the new batch of Compulsory Rotating Medical Interns (CRMI) by familiarizing them with the academic, ethical, administrative, and practical dimensions of their internship training.
In-house faculty members led engaging sessions on a wide range of topics. These included the roles and responsibilities of CRMI, the code of ethics to be upheld, and the importance of accurate logbook maintenance. Additional sessions covered best practices in emergency medicine, as well as essential insights into microbiology, pathology, biochemistry, and pharmacovigilance.
To promote safety and awareness, the programme also included guidance on fire safety measures and hospital infection control (HICC) protocols. Interns were briefed on hostel rules and encouraged to engage meaningfully with community medicine initiatives.
A special segment titled “Reflections from CRMI Representatives” provided a platform for interns to share their expectations and personal insights. The day concluded with a feedback session, allowing participants to express their views on the orientation and suggest areas for improvement.
The programme served as a strong foundation to help interns approach their responsibilities with professionalism, ethical awareness, and a commitment to continuous learning.
