The Induction Ceremony – Deeksharambh for the freshers, undergraduates, and postgraduates of Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy (MCPT) for the academic year 2025–2026 was held with great enthusiasm and warmth on 21st August 2025 at the MAHER Auditorium.
The program commenced at 10:00 AM with the soulful rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom. A warm welcome address was delivered by Prof. Dr. N. Koushik Kumar, Vice Principal, MCPT, after which the audience viewed the MAHER Higher Education Academy videos that showcased the vision and mission of the institution.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, alumni, and senior students, who delivered motivational speeches encouraging newcomers to embrace opportunities and challenges in their academic journey. This was followed by inspiring addresses from the Heads of various departments: Prof. Dr. N. Balamurugan (Orthopedics), Prof. Dr. Sugasri Sureshkumar (Neurosciences), Prof. Dr. N. Koushik Kumar (Cardiopulmonary Sciences), Prof. Dr. P.V. Hariharasubramanyan (Pediatrics), Dr. Y. Shyam Rani (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), and Dr. R. Murali (Sports Sciences).
A special highlight of the ceremony was a presentation on the remarkable growth of MCPT from 1998 to 2025, delivered in Tamil by Prof. Dr. P.V. Hariharasubramanyan, reflecting on the institution’s legacy and achievements. As a symbolic gesture, books were distributed to three students by Prof. Dr. R. Parthasarathy, Principal, MCPT, marking the beginning of their academic journey.
The program also featured a short film capturing the vibrant spirit and culture of the college, followed by an engaging Q&A session that allowed freshers to clarify their queries and interact with faculty and seniors. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. P.G. Maheshkumar and the rendition of the National Anthem at 11:00 AM.
The Induction Ceremony successfully fostered a sense of belonging, inspiration, and commitment, leaving the freshers motivated to embark on their journey at MCPT with confidence and pride.
