The Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), observed National Deworming Day on 11 February 2026 with a focused preventive health initiative.
The programme emphasized the importance of periodic deworming in controlling intestinal parasitic infections and improving overall health outcomes among students. As part of the activity, deworming tablets were distributed in line with public health recommendations. An awareness session was also conducted to educate students on the significance of hygiene, sanitation, and preventive healthcare practices in reducing the burden of worm infestations.
The initiative strengthened awareness about preventive medicine and reinforced the importance of individual and community responsibility in maintaining better health standards.
