The Department of ENT at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI) organized a CME titled “Update in ENT 2025 & World Deafness Day Awareness” on 25th September 2025. The event aimed to update medical professionals on recent advances in ENT while promoting awareness about hearing health and preventive care.
The program commenced with the Inaugural Address by Prof. Dr. K. V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCHRI, followed by the Keynote Address by Dr. K. Boopathi, Medical Superintendent, MMCHRI. The academic sessions featured expert talks, beginning with Dr. Sathyanarayanan, Medical Director of Royal Pearl Hospital, Trichy, on “Recent Advances in Otology”. Dr. Rashmitha Reddy, Assistant Professor, Department of ENT, presented on “Awareness of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss”, emphasizing preventive strategies to protect hearing. Dr. Viswasanthi P, Senior Resident, discussed “Minimal Invasive Procedures in ENT & Trends”, highlighting modern approaches in patient care.
A special segment was organized for Hearing Aid Distribution to Beneficiaries, reflecting the department’s commitment to community service. The afternoon session included Poster Presentations by postgraduate students of the Department of ENT, followed by an engaging Panel Discussion moderated by Prof. Dr. K. Muthubabu, HOD. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. P. Sravanthi, Associate Professor, Department of ENT.
The CME successfully blended academic updates with community awareness, emphasizing the importance of innovation, knowledge sharing, and proactive hearing care.
