The Annual Sports Meet and Cultural Event – Fencing Fiesta 2.0, organized by Meenakshi College of Nursing, Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER), took place from 25th June to 1st July 2025, culminating in a grand Valedictory Ceremony on 2nd July 2025. The week-long celebration, hosted by the Sports and Games Cell Committee and the Cultural Committee, aimed to promote both physical well-being and creative expression among students and faculty, weaving together tradition, talent, and spirited competition.
The valedictory event was graced by esteemed Chief Guests Dr. Iyyappan Iyyasamy, President & General Secretary, Rocket Ball Federation of India and CEO, Chennai Sriram Builders, along with Mr. Jeen, Managing Director, Chromalin Capital Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. and Vice President, Tamil Nadu Sportsman Association. Both dignitaries inspired the audience with their words of encouragement, applauding the youthful enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and commitment of the participants.
The final day featured a vibrant prize distribution ceremony, recognizing winners across various sports and cultural events. The Chief Guests emphasized the importance of sports in building resilience, teamwork, and unity among youth.
The cultural segment opened with an elegant classical dance, followed by an engaging lineup of musical performances blending folk and contemporary styles. The stage came alive with theatrical acts, including Adzap, Ramp Walk, and movie dubbing, which received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
A major attraction was the Fine Arts Exhibition, showcasing creative works such as face painting, mehendi, art from waste, cooking without fire, and rangoli. These displays reflected students’ creativity and their awareness of themes like environmental conservation, culture, and social identity.
Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, Meenakshi College of Nursing, MAHER, extended heartfelt congratulations to all participants and expressed deep appreciation for the faculty, organizing committees, and students for their unwavering efforts in making the event a grand success.
The meet concluded with the ceremonial lowering of the sports flag, symbolizing the end of a spirited celebration. Fencing Fiesta 2.0 stood as a vibrant testament to the power of sports and the arts in shaping well-rounded individuals and fostering a campus culture of unity, creativity, and excellence.
