On 17th April, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities and Science, MAHER, in collaboration with the IPR Cell, organized an enlightening guest lecture titled “Building a Future: IPR Awareness for the Next Generation.” The session aimed to foster awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students, a crucial area for innovation-driven academic and professional growth.
The guest speaker, Professor Mohammed Abbas from the Centre for Innovation and Incubation at Peri Institute of Technology, Chennai, delivered an in-depth presentation covering key aspects of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. His insights shed light on how intellectual property plays a pivotal role in both academia and industry, encouraging students to think creatively and protect their innovations.
The lecture drew an enthusiastic audience of over 150 students, sparking vibrant interest and discussion around the practical applications and legal implications of IPR in various fields.
The event was thoughtfully coordinated by Mrs. Josephin Mary, IPR Coordinator – Faculty of Humanities and Science, and served as a valuable step in equipping students with the knowledge to navigate and contribute to the innovation ecosystem.
