The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCH&RI), Enathur, Kanchipuram, on 15th August 2025.
The programme commenced at 9:00 AM with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Comdr. Digvijay Singh, Senior Met & Education Officer, INAS 312, INS Rajali, Arakkonam. The celebration began with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, followed by the inspection of the parade and salute by the Chief Guest. At 9:25 AM, the National Flag was hoisted, and the gathering joined in singing the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotic spirit.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. K.V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCH&RI, after which the Chief Guest addressed the gathering. In his Independence Day message, he emphasized the importance of patriotism, discipline, and unity in building a strong nation.
A special highlight of the programme was the honoring of students and staff for their achievements. The awards were presented by Mrs. Gomathi Radhakrishnan, Chief Patron of MAHER (Deemed to be University), and Mrs. Jayanthi Radhakrishnan, Chancellor of MAHER, adding prestige to the occasion.
The formal proceedings concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. V. Eswari, Vice Principal (Academics), followed by the distribution of sweets to all participants. The celebration successfully brought together faculty, staff, and students, reinforcing the spirit of independence, pride, and national unity.
