MAHER Observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025: Promoting Integrity and Transparency

The Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 was observed nationwide from 27th October to 2nd November 2025, as directed by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The theme for this year, “Our Shared Responsibility,” underscored the collective duty of individuals and institutions in fostering transparency, honesty, and accountability in all walks of life.

To commemorate the occasion, a Vigilance Awareness Programme was held on 25th October 2025 at the MAHER Auditorium from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The initiative aimed to instill a strong sense of ethical responsibility among students and staff members.

The programme commenced with the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by Dr. P. Sagayaraj, Dean, Meenakshi College of Arts and Science (MCAS). The Chief Guest, Mr. M. Palanivel, Advocate, Madras High Court, delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on the importance of vigilance and the harmful consequences of corruption. He discussed the various forms of vigilance, relevant anti-corruption laws, and the essential role of individual integrity in building a just society. He urged everyone to practice ethical conduct and contribute to creating a culture of honesty and fairness.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. V. Shanthi, Principal, MCAS. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Mrs. S. Malarvizhi, UGC Coordinator, MAHER Campus, and Dr. R. Sathya Aarthi, AICTE Nodal Officer, MCAS.

Around 205 students from Meenakshi College of Arts and Science, Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy, and Meenakshi College of Occupational Therapy actively participated in the event. As part of the observance, all participants took the Integrity Pledge, reaffirming their dedication to ethical values and good governance. An online quiz on vigilance and anti-corruption awareness was conducted, and the winners were awarded Certificates of Appreciation. A debate competition provided a platform for students to express their perspectives on strengthening integrity and building a corruption-free nation. A short film on vigilance awareness was also screened to sensitize participants to the significance of honesty and accountability in public life.

The Vigilance Awareness Programme inspired participants to reflect on the importance of moral integrity and collective responsibility. It encouraged them to uphold ethical principles in their professional and personal endeavors, promoting a culture of transparency and fairness in every sphere of society.
