MAHER Organizes Invited Talk on Extramural Grant Writing for Faculty and Researchers

The Department of Research at Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) organized an invited talk on “Extramural Grant (EMG) Writing” on 29th September 2025 at the University campus. The program was attended by faculty members and research scholars from diverse disciplines, providing a platform to enhance skills in research funding and proposal writing.

The session featured eminent resource persons, Dr. D. Velmurugan, Member-Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education, Chennai, and Dr. B. Ramalingam, Scientist ‘F’ and Senior Deputy Director, Department of Immunology, ICMR-NIRT, Chennai. Dr. Velmurugan was invited by Prof. Dr. N. Arunagirinathan, Dean of Research, while Dr. Ramalingam was invited by Dr. Pachamuthu Balakrishnan, Chief Scientist.

The talks offered valuable insights into the nuances of grant writing and research funding opportunities from national agencies such as DBT, DST, and ICMR. The speakers elaborated on critical aspects of proposal structuring, budgeting, compliance requirements, and strategies for meeting reviewer expectations, making the session highly informative and interactive.

As a mark of appreciation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. C. Sridhar, presented certificates to the distinguished speakers, acknowledging their valuable contributions and expertise. The program successfully reinforced MAHER’s commitment to promoting research excellence and capacity building among faculty and scholars.
