In a celebration of timeless artistry and cross-cultural dialogue, representatives from Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) participated in a distinguished classical music concert organized by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (Russian House), Chennai, on 14th June, 2025. The event commemorated the 185th birth anniversary of legendary Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
MAHER was represented by Dr. S. Tharani Kumar, Associate Dean,Collaborations, and Mr. K. Shree Jayaram, Head, Innovation & Incubation Centre and Vice President, Institution’s Innovation Council. Their presence reflected MAHER’s ongoing commitment to fostering international collaboration through academic, artistic, and cultural engagements.
Titled “Embassy of Musical Mastery”, the concert featured a masterful selection of classical compositions by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Ysaÿe, and Zimbalist. Acclaimed international performers Igor Smaliy (clarinet), Artur Krishchyan (violin), and Ivan Koscheev (piano) mesmerized the audience with their exceptional technique and expressive interpretations.
The evening was elegantly compered by Miss Evgeniya Solovchuk, Media Manager of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, whose insightful narration deepened the audience’s appreciation of the musical heritage being celebrated.
The event not only paid tribute to the enduring legacy of Tchaikovsky but also highlighted the power of music as a bridge between cultures. It marked yet another meaningful opportunity for academic institutions to engage in global cultural exchange and dialogue.
