As part of the NSS Day Celebration, Meenakshi College of Arts and Science (MCAS), Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy (MCPT), and Meenakshi College of Occupational Therapy (MCOT) jointly organised a General First Aid Programme on 24 September 2026 at the MAHER Auditorium. More than 200 students from the three colleges actively participated in the programme.
Dr. U. G. Thirumaaran, Professor & Head, Department of Anaesthesiology, Meenakshi Medical College, served as the Chief Guest and Resource Person. He highlighted the importance of first aid and demonstrated various first-aid procedures, providing students with practical guidance on responding to common emergencies and offering immediate assistance before professional medical help is available.
The students actively participated in the demonstrations and gained valuable hands-on knowledge, enhancing their confidence and awareness in handling emergency situations. The programme served as a meaningful initiative to equip NSS volunteers with essential first-aid skills and promote a sense of preparedness and social responsibility.
