MCON Celebrates International Dance Day on 29th April, 2025

The Student Council of MCON joyously celebrated International Dance Day on 29th April, 2025, at the MCON Conference Hall. The event, held from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, marked a tribute to the birth anniversary of Jean-Georges Noverre, the French dancer and choreographer hailed as the father of modern ballet.

The celebration commenced with an invocation song by the MCON choir, followed by the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries. Ms. Sabeetha S., a final-year B.Sc Nursing student, delivered the warm welcome address. The keynote speech was given by Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal of MCON, who highlighted the power of dance as a universal language that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries, promoting unity and harmony among people.

A vibrant sequence of traditional Indian dance performances by second, third, and fourth-year B.Sc Nursing students brought the spirit of the day alive. Dressed in colorful attire representing various Indian states, the performers captivated the audience, who responded with enthusiastic applause and admiration.

Ms. Karthika S., B.Sc (N) IV year, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers. The celebration concluded with the National Anthem and a joyful moment as students came together in collective dance movements, their faces reflecting sheer happiness and unity.
