The Internal Complaints Committee of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) organized a special programme on 10th October 2025 to mark the International Day of the Girl Child, on the inspiring theme “Empowering Girls through Health & Knowledge – Her Health, Her Strength, Her Success.” The event was conducted for the II and III-year girl students, aiming to promote awareness about women’s health, education, and empowerment.
The session was graced by Dr. Havvena Thangamani, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Director and Co-founder of Ligo Women’s Care, Mogappair East, Chennai, who delivered an insightful presentation on “Empowering Girls through Health and Knowledge.” She emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being, menstrual health awareness, and the transformative power of education in nurturing confident, self-reliant young women.
Prof. Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, and Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, addressed the gathering and motivated students to uphold values of confidence, health, and gender equality. Their words inspired students to take pride in their identity and strive toward holistic growth.
The programme concluded with reflections on empowerment and unity, leaving students inspired to foster an inclusive environment where every girl thrives with strength, dignity, and determination.
