The Department of Optometry at Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences observed World Optometry Day on 30th March 2026 by organizing a clinical session titled “A Shared Vision: Collaboration in Global Eye Care” at the AHS Lecture Hall.
The programme aimed to create awareness on myopia, overall eye health, early detection, and the prevention of vision impairment. The session featured valuable insights from Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, who emphasized the importance of collaborative approaches in improving eye care outcomes.
Students actively contributed through case and chart presentations supported by visual aids and real-life examples, making the session engaging, informative, and clinically relevant. A total of 110 students participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The session provided a platform for interactive learning and knowledge exchange, encouraging students to understand the importance of early diagnosis and preventive eye care.
