Final-year students of B.Sc. Anaesthesia Technology and B.Sc. Cardiovascular Technology from Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences actively participated in a medical health camp organized by Sahithya Social Welfare Trust on 14th March 2026 at Pillaiyarpalayam, Kanchipuram.
The students played a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team, particularly in services extended to female sex workers (FSWs) as part of HIV-related care initiatives. Working in coordination with the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit, they were involved in recording patient vital signs, conducting preliminary assessments, assisting in screening procedures, and providing basic health education under the supervision of faculty members and healthcare professionals.
This field engagement offered students valuable hands-on clinical exposure and the opportunity to interact directly with patients in a community setting. It significantly enhanced their practical knowledge, communication skills, and awareness of public health challenges.
