The Department of Mathematics, Meenakshi College of Arts and Science (MCAS), MAHER, successfully organized the preliminary round of the “Precise Energy Olympiad – 2025 on 25th August 2025 at the MCAS–MAHER campus. The event was held in association with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Chennai, Rosatom State Corporation, and the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre.
Around 200 students from the departments of Computer Science, Mathematics, Psychology, and Commerce participated with enthusiasm. Based on their performance, the top two scorers in each subject—Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics—were shortlisted to participate in the final stage of the Olympiad, conducted from 2nd to 4th September 2025 at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Chennai.
The award ceremony took place on 4th September 2025 at the Russian House, Chennai, in the esteemed presence of Mr. Alexander Dodonov, Director, Russian House, Dr. Alexander Nakhabov, Scientist, National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI), and Ms. Nina Dementsova, Head of Communications, Atomstroyexport JSC. MAHER was represented at the ceremony by Dr. N. Prabhavathi Devi, Principal (Shift II), and Dr. R. Shanthi, Head, Department of Mathematics, who congratulated the achievers and appreciated their efforts.
The Olympiad witnessed participation from over 12,600 students across Tamil Nadu, of which 620 qualified for the final stage. The top three students in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics were honoured with valuable prizes during the grand ceremony.
The “Precise Energy” Olympiad – 2025 offered students a remarkable platform to showcase their academic talents, enhance problem-solving skills, and gain experience in an international-level competition.
