Meenakshi College of Arts and Science, in association with ISO-MAHER, organized an awareness program on “E-Waste Management” on 16th and 18th September 2025 at the MAHER Auditorium for Shift I and Shift II students, respectively.
The guest speaker, Mr. Marcus, senior volunteer at an NGO and freelancer from Pondicherry, highlighted the alarming rise of e-waste driven by rapid technological growth and consumerism. He explained the hazardous materials present in e-waste and their harmful effects on both the environment and human health.
The lecture proved highly beneficial for the 500 students who attended, as it encouraged them to adopt environmentally responsible practices and recognize their role in sustainable waste management. Students from both shifts participated enthusiastically, finding the session informative, practical, and thought-provoking.
The program was successfully coordinated by Mrs. S. Malarvizhi and Mrs. R. Arivukodi, ISO Coordinators, MCAS.
