Meenakshi College of Nursing Celebrates Independence Day with the Spirit of “Yuva Sakthi for Viksit Bharat”

The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2026 at the college playground with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration was held with the theme “Yuva Sakthi for Viksit Bharat”, highlighting the role and contribution of the younger generation in the nation’s development.

The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by Ms. Aarthi, IV Year B.Sc. Nursing student, MCON. The National Flag was hoisted by Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON, followed by the National Anthem.

In her keynote address, Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON, emphasized the importance of youth participation in building Viksit Bharat @ 2047. She highlighted that the actions taken by the younger generation today, including technological innovation, sustainable practices, and entrepreneurship, can contribute significantly to the nation’s progress.

As part of the celebrations, all participating students and faculty members took the Independence Day Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to the values of the nation. A special speech on the Independence Day theme was delivered by Mr. Mohsin Mukhtar and Ms. Durga, I Year B.Sc. Nursing students, and Mr. Jasim Ali and Mr. Mohammed Saddique, III Year B.Sc. Nursing students.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Brindha, IV Year B.Sc. Nursing student, MCON. A total of 30 students and 2 faculty members participated in the celebration.
