Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON), through its Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC), organized an Anti-Ragging Awareness Week Programme on 13th August 2026 to sensitise students to the harmful effects of ragging and promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. The programme was organized and coordinated by Dr. M. Kavitha, Anti-Ragging Committee, MCON.
The programme commenced with an invocation by the MCON Choir, followed by the Welcome Address. Prof. Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of discipline, mutual respect, dignity, and positive relationships among students.
An awareness session on “Zero Tolerance Towards Ragging in the College Campus” was delivered by Mr. Jamuna, Inspector of Police, Mangadu. The session highlighted the legal, psychological, social, and academic consequences of ragging and sensitised students to their responsibility to prevent and report ragging-related incidents.
The programme also featured creative awareness activities by II Semester students, including a skit and mime performance on ragging. Through these presentations, students effectively portrayed the adverse consequences of ragging while conveying important messages on friendship, empathy, teamwork, and supportive peer relationships.
A Pledge Against Ragging was administered by Prof. Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON, reaffirming the collective commitment towards maintaining a ragging-free campus.
