Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) Celebrates Teacher’s Day 2025 with Enthusiasm and Gratitude

Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) celebrated Teacher’s Day on 4th September 2025 with great zeal, honoring the invaluable contributions of its teaching fraternity. The event offered students an opportunity to express their appreciation through music, speeches, and vibrant performances, reinforcing the bond between mentors and mentees. The celebration was coordinated by Dr. Thephilah Cathrine R, Associate Professor, MCON. A total of 141 students and 14 faculty members actively participated in the program.

The celebration commenced at 2:00 PM with a soulful invocation by the MCON Choir, setting an atmosphere of reverence and joy. Ms. Jinet Jiju, B.Sc. (N) II Year, delivered the warm welcome address, followed by a keynote address by Principal Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, who emphasized the pivotal role of educators in shaping future healthcare professionals and highlighted the enduring impact of mentorship in nursing education.

To honor the occasion in both regional and global contexts, a Teacher’s Day speech was delivered in English by Ms. Jananishree and in Tamil by Ms. Rohini, B.Sc. (N) I Year, beautifully conveying students’ respect and admiration for their mentors. The cultural segment included a melodious group song by Mr. Shakthivel K and team from B.Sc. (N) IV Year, adding a festive spirit to the event.

One of the highlights was the “Games for Faculty” session, organized by B.Sc. (N) I Year students. Faculty members enthusiastically participated, creating laughter, camaraderie, and memorable moments. The celebrations were further energized by a vibrant group dance performance by Mr. Elakiya G, B.Sc. (N) II Year, showcasing the talents and enthusiasm of the student body.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Sandra, B.Sc. (N) I Year, followed by the National Anthem led by the MCON Choir. Ms. Jinet Jiju and Ms. Sandra effectively compered the program, ensuring a smooth flow and lively interaction throughout.

The Teacher’s Day Celebration 2025 at MCON was a heartfelt tribute to the mentors who continuously inspire and guide students toward excellence, leaving lasting memories for both faculty and students alike.
